2023 - Flow members exhibition
29 artists are showed works in Flow, the first public showing of member work since before Covid. The exhibition idea emerged during a time of flood devastation affecting our communities, however, as Flow developed artists were encouraged to consider the concept of Flow in any way they wished to do so.
The result of these individual considerations demonstrates the depth of personal experience, individual concerns, history, and interests within JMGQ’s membership and has brought into being diverse works full of meaning.
The works you see here consider transitional moments and disruption: uncertainty and unpredictability.
Deeply personal explorations of grief and mourning: healing and growth: abandonment and liberation. The illusion of control, fluidity of form and emerging energy and potential.
Considerations of human induced change transforming the flow of life on our planet at the cost of species and environmental devastation.
The flow of life itself, personal history, and experience.
Thorough Flow our deeply held concerns are revealed, and questions are asked of you as you look at the pieces shown.
