13 November 2009 Queensland College of Art Griffith University, Brisbane, Queensland A half day symposium addressing the processes, concerns and consequences of making Jewellery and Objects with a heightened environmental awareness. How are green concerns affecting practice? Guest Speaker: Christine Dhein, educator, author, jeweller, founder of Green Jewelry News, and assistant Director of the Revere Academy of Jewelry Arts in San Francisco will present her research into Green Jewelry practices. www.christinedhein.com Call for Papers Papers are invited from practitioners and postgraduate students whose research engages with the theme of Green Jewellery and Objects. Submissions should be in the form of a one page CV and a 250 word abstract emailed to Elizabeth Shaw at [email protected] Submissions will be reviewed by the Green Symposium Committee. Deadline for Abstracts: 21 September 2009. Notification of Acceptance: 5 October 2009. Selected papers will be published as the Green Jewellery Symposium Papers Associated Master Class Christine Dhein will teach a two-day, studio-based Master Class on Green Studio Techniques.
